Abstract :
In this study, rock falling, floods and avalanches which have caused Kayabeyli village to change its place, were investigated. The most of rural settlements have been settle down through unsuitable area, thus they have been transported to another places or they have been abandoned. Natural disasters and economic factors affects this transportation and cause to change residential area. Kayabeyli (Rısvanusagı) village, one of Baskil’s (Elazıg) village, is a rural residential area which has have to been transported to another place because of natural disasters. Kayabeyli has been settled down on south side of Hasan Mountain at western Elazıg. It is located in front of cliff formed by fault like falaises, therefore the risk of rock falling is very high. Building houses in front of high slope and on foot of aluvial fans increased flood and avalanche risks.Because of ignorence of natural disasters risks during construction this village has been exposed to rock falling, floods, and avalanches. Beside selection of unsuitable area for settlement, destruction of natural vegetation by human also caused to transport Kayabeyli village and change it places.
