Abstract :
Facing a growing amount of knowledge, the necessities of teaching students more in less time on one hand, and showing students how to reach the knowledge, on the other hand, have emerged. With respect to meeting these necessities, using technogy in education has been compulsory. The aim of this research is to determine the circumstance of usage of technological tools during the instruction of history topics in social science lessons of grade six and seven.To this end, 127 social science teachers that served in the Kutahya province were consulted. In the research, It has been determined that teachers’ gender has no effect on the circumstance of using technological tools, that senior teachers use technological devices more, that majority of the teachers believe technology enhances the efficiency, but they do not use it to the degree they support, and that teachers rather use it occasionally.
