Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to adapt Global Citizenship Scale (GCS) developed by Morais and Ogden (2011) into Turkish and to do the validity and reliability analysis of the scale. The work group of the study consists of 429 undergraduates studying in University of Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen. For the language validity of the scale, expert views were offered for consideration. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were done to determine the implicit structure of the scale. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, a three-factor structure which explains 43.77 % of the total variance was obtained and it was found that the fit index of this three-factor structure is enough. For the reliability of the scale, internal consistency, split half and test – retest methods were applied and the reliability coefficient was found to be; Cronbach alpha a= .76, Sperman Brown split half reliability .75 and test-retest reliability coefficient .75. According to the obtained data, it can be said that Global Citizenship Scale is a scale which has adequate validity and reliability to be applied on Turkish culture.
