Examining Technopedagogical Knowledge Competencies of Teacher Trainers in Terms of Some Variables
Abstract :
Most researches dealing with integration of technology into courses focuses on teachers’ or preservice teachers’ opinions; however the teacher trainers in teacher training institutes are important groups to be examined. The aim of this study is to examine technopedagogicalcontent knowledge competencies of teacher trainers. In this study descriptive survey model has been used among 132 teacher trainers working at a faculty of education in a state university in Turkey, 2012-2013 academic year.A technological pedagogical content knowledge scale (TPACK-Deep) developed by KabakciYurdakul et al. (2012) was used as data collection tool. The TPACK competency scores of teacher trainers were investigated if there is any statistically significant difference between the mean scores at .05 significance level with regard to their gender, age groups, departments and title variables. Independent samples t-test, one way ANOVA were performed for data analysis. According to the findings the teacher trainers has advanced competency level of TPACK and there were no statistically significant differencewithin the mean scores of their gender, departments and titles. There was only statistically significant difference in age groups between 31-40 and 50 and up in favour of 31-40 with medium effect size.
