Abstract
This research was done to standardize Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test III (R) in İzmir Region. The 299 four years old children and 286 five years old totally 585 children who live in İzmir and the towns near İzmir were used as subjects. PPTV III (R) target words (N= 204) were translated to Turkish Language and given to the subjects individually. The number of target words which are known by subjects were used as raw scores of the subjects. In order to construct a more sensitive test, each age group divided to four subgroups which each has three months interval. In statistical analyses the raw scores were used . According to the analyses, raw scores converted to standard norm scores. Standard norm tables which have mean=100 and standard deviation=10 were obtained. The standardized norm tables for each age group were used as Izmir Region standardized norm values
