The Visual Perception Scale developed by the researchers was employed to measure visual perception levels. The study group consists of students aged 4 to 6 total of 40 students participated in the study; 20 students in the experiment group and 20 students in the control group. In order to investigate whether the groups are equivalent, Levene and Scheffe tests were performed. The data was obtained by analyzing the pre-test and the post-test applied before and after abacus mental arithmetic training, reports of year-end development and parent survey results. Related and “independent samples t tests”, “t-test”, “arithmetic mean”, “standard deviation”, and “content analysis” were utilized to analyze the data.
