Title Of Article :
Biotelemetry and usage in fishing
Abstract :
Development in electronics field led to emergence of telemetry technique, which is based on wireless transfer of information. Monitoring with telemetry techniques of organisms living in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems has been named Biotelemetry. Telemetry, which is classified into radio and acoustic subfields, can be used to determine fish stock distributions, mortality rates of fishes, migration behavior and paths. The use of telemetri technique that provides better results than traditional ones for fish population research is increasing day by day. In this study, historical development of biotelemetry, the working principles, the usage in fishing, used brands and the tagging techniques have been explained.
