Malacostraca fauna of the Karina Lagoon (Aydın)
Abstract :
In order to determine the Malacostraca fauna of the Karina Lagoon, samplings were conducted seasonally between 26.05.2011-10.04.2012 at 9 stations.At the end of the study, 14 species were determined; of the determined taxa, 7 species (Gammarus aequicauda, G. subtypicus, G. insensibilis, Monocorophium sextonae, Ericthonius punctatus, Dexaminae spinosa, Microdeutopus gryllotalpa) belong to Amphipoda, four species (Idotea balthica basteri, Sphaeroma serratum, Sphaeroma pulchellum, Lekanesphaera monodi) to Isopoda and four species (Palaemon longirostris, Hippolyte holthuisi, Carcinus aestuarii) to Decapoda. The distributions of the determined species according to stations and sampling dates were presented.It is aimed to contribute to the knowledge on biodiversity of Turkey by determining the Malacostraca species inhabiting in Karina Lagoon which is one of the most productive and important lagoon areas of Turkey.
