The Student T-Test, Mann-whitney-U test and Pearson correllation analysis were used for analysis. Results: The sample included 72.6% male, 66.7% primary level educated, 28.6% were workers, and all married. 56 patients (66.7%) have nonsmall cell carcinoma. 46.4% have metastatic carcinoma. We found that the quality of life is better in males, who are higher educated, have small carcinoma, and whose duration of disease was shorter/longer and received treatment than in those less have a worse quality of life than the others (p 0.05). The comparison of the self-care agency and items of quality of life suggested that there is a positive relation between the self-care agency and role functioning, physical functioning, and social functioning. Conclusion: To improve the quality of life of cancer patients, developing a self-care agency is necessary for patients and maintains their health and development planning activities and increases motivation which is important.
