Abstract :
Mature cystic teratoma is the most common germ cell tumor of the ovary that generally occurs during reproductive period. Although mature cystic teratoma is a benign tumor, rarely (1-2%) it may show malignant transformation and it is usually observed in older ages. Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignant transformation (70-80%). Mature cystic teratoma with malignant transformation may show dissemination by peritoneal seeding or local invasion to the adjacent organs and presents with clinical symptoms of the affected organs. Herein, we report a case of a squamous cell carcinoma arising from mature cystic teratoma fistulised to sigmoid colon in a 82-year-old patient
