The Effect of a Dynamic Mathematics Software on Preservice Teachers’ Opinions Regarding Interactive Whiteboards
Abstract :
The aim of this study is to examine the effect of a dynamic mathematics software on preservice teachers’ opinions about the use of interactive whiteboard technology in their classrooms. The research was designed as a case study, with emphasis on qualitative research methods. The research was conducted with 14 pre-service mathematics teachers. Each pre-service teacher was able to perform applications on the interactive whiteboard using the dynamic mathematics software. Based on the data analysis, the pre-service teachers found that the interactive whiteboards could be used during math lessons for solving problems and displaying geometrical shapes. At the same time, it was found that, with the integration of dynamic mathematics software and interactive whiteboard, understanding of the concepts and the display of graphics was easier, while facilitating concretization and retention.
