Abstract
A therapeutic factor in group counseling, group cohesion prepares the essential ground for the functioning of other therapeutic factors. With the development of a sense of trust among members, cohesiveness is started to occur. In a cohesive group,members may experience feelings of belonging and acceptance, and they can open themselves in a deeper way. Thus, this is a positive impact on outcomes at the end of the group process. In this review, it is aimed to investigate the various definitions, importance and components of the group cohesion, characteristicsof cohesive groups’ and factors associated with cohesion.
