The Effect of Organizational Cynicism on Primary and Middle School Teacher’s Level of Alinetion at Work
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to do a research about the effect of organizational cynicism attitudes of the teachers working at public primary and secondary schools on the level of alienation from work. Organizational cynicism, in the simplest form, means the negative attitude of employees against their organizations. We may encounter alienation, which is one of the consequences of organizational cynicism in many ways nowadays. Some of the effects of alienation from work on the employees are decrease of work and life satisfaction, decrease of productivity, lack of motivation, avoiding work and being alienated from work. The research has been carried out with scanning method. During the research, Teacher-Oriented Organizational Cynicism Scale (Sağır-Akpolat and Oğuz, 2012) and Scale of Alienation from Work developed by Elma (2003) have been used. The subjects of this study are 407 teachers working at four central provinces of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality. According to findings of the research, teachers feel the organizational cynicism in the level of factors reducing their performance and their level of alienation from work is at the level of weakness.
