The Opinions of the In-service Teachers to Ecopedagogy-Based Environmental Education depend on Holistic Perspective
Abstract :
Sustainable development has economic, social, environmental sub-components and there are complicated relationships between these components. Environmental education for sustainable development is used in order to understand these complicated relationships. One of the aims of environmental education for sustainable development is to help development of holistic perspective. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of ecopedagogy-based outdoor environmental education program intended for in-service teachers on holistic perspective. Qualitative approach is used as methodolgy. The data is collected by non-participant obsrevation and open ended questions. Content analyse is used for the evaluation. It is found that ecopedagogy based environmental education program is effective in order to develop holistic perspective of in-service teachers. The participants have ecopedagogic perspective rather than anthropocentric perspective.
