Abstract :
This study aims to evaluate the evaluation component of EGIT112 Educational Psychology course curriculum offered at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Education Faculty. This study explores the validity and the reliability of the midterm and final exams administered and also the suitability of the assessment criteria used in Educational Psychology course. The participants of the study consisted of 303 studentsentrolled in EGIT112 Educational Psychology course at the Faculty of Education of EMU during spring semester of 2013-2014 academic year. The data of the study included the learning objectives of the course, the test scores obtained from the midterm, project, quiz and final exams, the total scores and weighted coefficient of these scores. The findings indicate that both midterm and final exams have low content validity. Kuder-Richardson 21 (KR21) reliability coefficient is also found rather low. The results demonstrate high correlation between letter grades assigned by the faculty at the end of the semester and the total achievement score of students which can be said that the assessment criteria are reliable in this respect. Grades obtained from the midterm and the research projects are reported to be rather effective in predicting final grades.
