Abstract :
Objective: Especially for the adolescent students in the universities unbalanced diet is a big social problem. In this study; it is aimed to find out the eating habits of the students in Suleyman Demirel University. Material and Method: The study was conducted in April-May-June 2010 and the date, studies of the samples, Suleyman Demirel University Campus in the training of 94 high school students constituted. The students who participated in the research, was determined by a simple random sample. Evaluation of nutritional habits, the researchers created by the survey method used. Height and weight measurements were made with a standard scale and tape measure. The statistical data were taken from program SPSS 18,0 by chi-square and ANOVA tests were evaluated. Results: Mean age of the students was 19.9 ± 0.9 years; 74 of them (74.4%) were undergraduate students. Students in terms of where they live, 27 students (28.7%) constituted the largest group with state home. Four-person nuclear family structure was the highest group (39.4%). Significant relation between educational level and the place where meals were frequently eaten (p: 0.054) and frequency of eating fried (P:0.031) was found. Similarly; the faculty of education and consumption of coke and carbonated beverages showed significant relationship (p = 0.002). When BMI was examined in the study group; student s body weight was within normal limits, but generally 17.39 % of girls flour was found to be underweight. Conclusion: Nutritional habits can be affected by many factors. Healthy nutrition and health of university students themselves, but also for future generations is important.
