Abstract :
Lupus vulgaris the most common skin tuberculosis that can be seen in patients with high and medium sensitivities to Mycobacterium tuberculosis and tuberculin. Various cancers can develop on the chronic lupus vulgaris lesions, but the squamous cell cancer is the most common type. Therefore early diagnosis and treatment of lupus vulgaris is very crucial. Herein, we present a 71 year-old male patient presenting with a wound on his right cheek for almost 50 years. Biopsy specimens taken from the lesion were consistent with squamous cell carcinoma developing over the lupus vulgaris lesion. We emphasize that patients with lupus vulgaris lesions should followed up closely due to increased risk of occurrence of cancer.
