Abstract :
Machinery equipment in medium and large scale construction projects has great importance. Buying mobile cranes, tower cranes,concrete pumps, concrete mixers, trucks, graders, excavators, bulldozers atc., emphasis on among the issues to be dealt with. Insuch cases the decision makers needs, goals, evaluation criterias, it is necessary to create alternatives for themselves by determiningthe importance of these criteria. From this point, the election will turn into a multi-criteria optimization problem. With selectionand application of the appropriate methods, the implementation of utility maximization and minimizing the burden incurred maybe possible. In this study, the decision to buy a tower crane of a construction company which wanted for use it in a constructionproject under it’s underwriting, analyzed. For this choosing, VIKOR multi criteria decision making method is used. The surveyresults demonstrate the success of the VIKOR method can be used with it. The method can be use also with expanding,incorporating with fuzzy logic or other multi criteria decision making methods as hybrid manner.
