FLOODS IN TOKAT PROVINCE IN THE REPUBLICAN ERA (1934-1949)

This study examines floods and measures by the Governments in Tokat province between 1934-1949. Especially three big floods (1940, 1946 and 1949 floods) gave more damages than the others. The floods of 1949 caused some deaths as well. The floods caused heavy damages to the houses in the province center, towns and villages in the examined period. Moreover, cultivated and uncultivated lands were affected in the river basins of Yeşilırmak and Kelkit as well.
