Students’ Opinions about Using The Newspaper in Social Studies
Abstract :
The aim of this study is to determine the opinions of fourth grade Social Studies students, that are taught with the usage of newspaper, about using newspaper in education. To solve the research problem; semi-structured interview forms for taking opinions of students after education were used. As a result of the study, the opinions of group on using newspaper in Social Studies are mainly positive. All students interviewed indicated that using newspaper in the course improved their reading and reading comprehension skills All students interviewed indicated that using newspaper made them enjoy the lesson and nearly all students interviewed indicated that they did not have difficulty in using newspaper in lessons and that newspapers could be used in all lesson.
