Nature that can not be Marginalized in Buket Uzuner’s Novel ‘’Discordant Defne Kaman’s Adventures Water‘’
Abstract :
It is the fact that the steps being taken to protect the nature today is known to be inadequate as humanbeing who is accelarating consuming life sources with technological developments is again himself trying to stop it. One of those attempts ecologists are making is the litetature.Buket Uzuner, in her novel ‘Discordant Defne Kaman’s Adventures’ , has mentioned both environmental problems and the relationship between these problems and socio-cultural structure. In this novel where natural, social and political relationship problems have been discussed, we can see that the main problem is the changeable woman-nature acceptance and the author wants to draw attention to Shaman belief system. In this work, it has been tried to be presented that Ecologic Criticism and Shaman belief system have had an effect in creating nature consciousness on people’s minds and also it has showed that both have some common symbolic elements which is in relation with the nature.
