Research on Flower Abnormality in Sweet Cherry (Prunus avium L.)

In this research it was aimed to put forward the periodological and chronological onset of these abnormal flower (Phyllody) formations in 0900 Ziraat and Starks Gold cherries. Bud samples were taken every 10-15 days and were examined under the microscope. According to the results, the reason for abnormal flowers was the inhibition of floral development after sepal primordia formed. The rate of flower abnormality which is described as leaf-like development of the floral organs was determined as 41-47 percent.
