Title Of Article :
Determination of Seed Yield, Protein, Oil Content and Fatty Acid Compositions and Relationships of Some Soybean Lines/Cultivars
Abstract :
In this study seed yield, protein and oil content and fatty acid compositions of some soybean (Glycine max L.) lines and cultivars were determined and the relationships among seed yieldand quality traits were investigated. The soybean lines developed by the Bati Akdeniz Agricultural Research Institute and registered varieties were used as a genetic material in this study. Field experiments were carried out in randomized complete block design with three replications in Antalyain 2005 and 2006. For each year, relationships between seed yield and oil and protein contents were not significant, but there was inversely significant relationship between oil and protein contents. Relationships between seed yield and oil, protein and oil + protein yields were found to be highly significant. Because of the inverse relationship between oil and protein content, soybean lines and cultivars with the only high oil content and seed yield or the only high protein content and seed yield may be needed to be improved in the future.
