Abstract :
The disposal of organic wastes is unavoidable since population growth and rapidly increasing urbanization have increased waste generation in the world. Organic wastes originating from urban and agricultural sources are a significant cause of environmental pollution. Landfilling, incineration, pyrolysis, anaerobic digestion, and composting are the methods that are used to dispose of organic wastes. Composting, which can be defined as aerobic biological treatment, is a sustainable management of wastes. Compost can be used to improve soil structure and can act as a soil conditioner. In the process of decomposing the organic wastes, microorganisms use oxygen in the environment and then decompose the organic matter; at the end of the reaction, CO_2, water, and heat are generated. The objective of this study is to determine the optimum mixture ratio of chicken manure and wheat straw and relationships between the aeration rate and temperature in the composting process. According to the results, the optimum mixture ratio for composting the experimental materials was found to be 85% chicken manures and 15% wheat straw on a dry basis. The equation of “y=0,075x2,1667” was found as more successful from other control strategies.
