Abstract :
The study was carried out to determine the yield and quality of some bread wheat varieties in dry ecological conditions in Yozgat during 2012-2013 growing season. Experiment was designed as a randomized complete block design with four replicates. Plant height of the species (86-112 cm), the number of spikes per square meter (423-492 units), spike length (8-11 cm), spikelet number per spike (23-46 units), number of grains per spike (22-46 pieces), spike grain weight (1-2 g), grain yield (427-639 kg / ha), thousand kernel weight (33-44 g), hectoliter weight (76-82 kg), biological yield (1215 to 1910 kg / ha), harvest index (30-38%), protein content(8-13%), gluten (only) amount (%15 -31), delayed sedimentation test (7-35 mL) and Zeleny sedimentation test (8-28 ml) were determined. Karahan, Bayraktar-2000, Hematology, stood out Tosunbey and Nenehatun varieties had beter results for primary yield components of plant height, number of spikes per square meter, spike length, grain yield, biological yield and harvest index value. Nenehatun, Tosunbey and Greek varieties had a higher gluten and sedimentation value than others.
