Abstract :
The aim of this study was to determine the effect of potassium iodide (KI) application (0,01%) to mimic drought stress on bread wheat genotypes (cv. Nacibey and cv. Sönmez) grown in well conditions. Analyses of minerals, amino and organic acids revealed that KI application well created drought stress in bread wheat genotypes. Cv.Nacibey showed more drought resistance ability than cv. Sönmez for minerals, amino and organic acids. Changes in minerals, amino and organic acids are determined as well indicators to plants induced drought conditions. Besides, KI application could also be successfully used to determine performance of bread wheat genotypes for drought conditions.
