Title Of Article :
EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF DRYING BEHAVIOURS IN AN INFRARED RADIATION DRYER
Abstract :
In this study, an infrared radiation dryer was designed, manufactured and analyzed experimentally. Drying air temperature was controlled proportionally. The heat of exhaust air was utilized with a heat recovery device in terms of energy efficiency. Quince slices were dried from 3,89 g water/g dry matter initial moisture content to 0,16 g water/g dry matter final moisture content. In the drying system, quinces sliced into 4 mm thickness were dried at 35 °C and 40 °C drying air temperature and 1,22 m/s, 1,83 m/s and 2,45 m/s drying air velocities. Energy and psychrometric analysis of the infrared radiation dryer was performed for six experiments. On average specific moisture extraction rate (SMER), drying time and heat recovery device efficiency were calculated as 0,082 kg/kWh, 315 minutes and 37,5 %, respectively.
