THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT, TRADE OPENNESS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH: AN ANALYSIS ON TURKEY
Abstract :
In this study, the relationship between financial development, trade openness and economic growth has been estimated by utilizing annual data for the Turkish economy over the period 1970- 2007. Relationships between variables have been investigated by employing Johansen-Juselius Cointegration and VAR Causality analyses. Econometric analyses indicate that there are one-way causality relation running from financial development to economic growth between financial development and economic growth, and two-way causality relation between trade openness and economic Growth in Turkish economy.
