THE EU COMMON AGRICULTURAL POLICY AFTER 2013: AN ASSESSMENT ON THE REFORM PROPOSAL OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
Abstract :
The European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is continually evolving. The CAP has undergone fundamental reforms over time to respond to changing economic conditions as well as societal expectations and demands. In this process, the European Commission has published its Communication on “the CAP towards 2020” which sets out options for the further reform of the CAP after 2013. The aim of this study is to analyze the content of the debate on CAP reform from the perspective of the Communication. It describes the components of the reform and examines preferred reform options.
