Abstract
This research was done to determine teacher candidates’ qualification perceptions about teaching professions’ general qualifications. The research is in survey method. The population consists of Fırat University Science and Social sciences 2008-2009 academic year non-thesis high school students. In the research the whole population were inclined in sampling. Data were obtained with five-item likert type scale and frequency, descriptive, t-test, Mann Whitney U and correlation tests were applied. As a result, it was found that teacher candidates themselves were quite qualified in terms of giving importance to national and universal values, “qualified” in terms of personal development “average qualified” in terms of watching closely and assisting in professional development.
