Abstract :
This study aims to research and to evaluate the impact of supporting and improving leadership approach of schoolprincipals on organizational loyalty of teachers according to the teachers’ perception. The gender and the school typesare taken into consideration in the evaulation. The population of the research consists of 509 teachers working at theprimary and secondary schools in Çubuk province, Ankara. The sample of the research is made up of the 180 teacherschosen randomly from 9 schools. “Survey on Supporting and Improving Leadership Features” for designatingsupporting and improving leadership levels of school principals and “Scale of Organizational Loyalty” aiming tomeasure the organizational loyalty of teachers are used to retrieve data. In analysis of data, Pearson Product-MomentCorrelation Coefficient, Simple Linear Regression Analysis, Independent t-test and Frequency and Percent Distributiontests are used. According to research results, organizational loyalty and perceptions for supporting and improvingleadership features of teachers do not vary due to gender parameter. While there is no relationship between type ofschool and adaptation and adoption scope of organizational loyalty, there are ignificant differences between sense ofidentification and perception for supporting and improving leadership approach in accordance with type of school. It isdetermined that sense of identification and perception for supporting and improving leadership approach of teachersworking at secondary schools are higher than those of working at primary schools. Supporting and improving leadershipapproach significantly affects the adaptation of organizational loyalty in the negative direction, on the other hand, itaffects sense of identification and adoption scope of loyalty in the positive direction.
