AN INVESTIGATION ON THE ATTITUDES OFPRE-SCHOOL TEACHERS ABOUT THINKING EDUCATION
Abstract :
The aim of the study is to examine the attitudes of pre-school teachers about Thinking Education.Teacher Attitude Scale developed by the researcher to collect data has been used in the research.The Cronbach Alpha Coefficient of the scale has been calculated as 0.96. According to the resultsof the survey it has been identified that pre-school teachers have got positive opinions aboutThinking Education but they have differences about goals and roles of teachers. It has also beenidentified that attitudes of teachers working in private institutions regarding the issue are morepositive compared to the teachers working in public institutions and novice teachers are moreentrepreneurial and innovative about Thinking Education. As a result of the research, it isrecommended to arrange seminars on Thinking Education for pre-school teachers and to includeThinking Education in the curriculum which has been implemented in pre-school educationalinstitutions in order to make children attain thinking skills.
