A QUALITATIVE STUDY OF CHILD ABUSE REPORTED IN NEWSPAPERS
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to investigate the child abuse cases based on newspaper reports. In this direction, child abuse cases is investigated according to child abuse types, exploiter and abused child genders and context. Fort this aim, two newspapers(Hurriyet and Zaman) were chosen and the investigation was limited to three-months period, searching online databases of newspapers. Research method is document review. For data analysis content analysis method was used. Consequently, most of the expoiters and the abused children are male. Abuse cases mostly occur in family.
