Abstract :
Kyrgyzs in Central Asia are one of the Muslim Turkish tribes. Turkish language and history of the sources provided that Kyrgyzs are one of the oldest tribes around the Turks. There are various discussions with the Kyrgyzs in the scientific world. One of these is the etymology of ‚Kyrgyz‛ word.Related to the etymology of this word in Turkish, Arabic, Persian sources, gives numerous information.Some of tehese are based on the discussion in scientific world and some of the others are based on legends which are live in among the folk. In this paper, a variety of scientists opinions about the etymology of ‚Kyrgyz‛ word and this word’s, which can be set off from legend, etymologic analysis were trying to do.
