Abstract
Yusuf u Zeliha is one of the most important work of Old Anatolian Turkish. At the same time it is the first written Yusuf u Zeliha mesnevi at Anatolian area. Although we don’t have much knowledge of the life of Şeyyâd Hamza, the author of Yusuf u Zeliha it is understood from his works that he was impressed of folk leterature poem tradion besides classical leterature. İn this reading and givining meaninng suggestion of some words time the etymology of related works are tried to be given.
