Abstract :
One of the functions of folklore is to have a nice time, fun and to entertain people. In Turkish cultural life, public entertainments despite varying from region to region, occupies a very large field. in the folklore studies carried out till our time, these entertainments mentioned superficially but in-depth research was not attempted.As is other folklore products, public entertainments also provide important data for understanding of a culture. So, It is possible to understand the philosophy of a community s life, belief system, life style, value judgments, etc. Traditions related to marriage, as it is known, in folklore works classified as tradsitional period” Among these traditions, the entertainment culture occupies a crucial place. Fun of marriage also varies from region to region in terms of both content and naming.“The Stag Night” tradition, in Erzurum, the night before the wedding, so that women and young girls, while henna night the groom, close friends and pers, with the participation of intensity come together and have fun in the form of folk culture şn a fun. Music holds an important place in, a suprising number of games, including games of th,s v,c,ous banter and theatrical evenings, especially seen to outweigh the erotic elements. Accordingly, this night, small children, the elderly and women are not included.İn this study, to date, both in terms of content as well as the name of the region of Erzurum, which is studies enough “Stag Night” festivities will be studied for review and to introduce.
