CONTRIBUTIONS OF GAMES IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT AND GAZİANTEP CHILDREN’S GAMES

Both physically and psychological as well as mentally, children are different from adults. They have their own particular world. In this world, they have their own perspectives evaluations, dreams and needs related to events. In this context one of children’s needs is game. Connected to this need wherever there are children in the world there are also games. Game is, so to speak, purpose of a child’s life. We see children play different games in Gaziantep ans its surroundings. In this study, mental and social contributions of games in children games and in this context their importance in social life are dealt with and 35 games which are played by children are dealt with. For this purpose traditional children’s games which are disappearing because of rapid technological, were became bound by rectrictions. As a result it is emphasised that games are basic need for children.
