THE FIRST WRITTEN BOOKS IN AZERBAIJAN AIMED AT THE TEACHING OF MOTHER TONGUE
Abstract :
In 1830s in Azerbaijan, the first steps were taken towards preparing textbooks and other materials in mother tongue. It was known that the main aim of these written textbooks in this period was to facilitate the teaching of the mother tongue. These written textbooks aimed at the teaching of Azerbaijani Turkish language, enabled to carry out mother tongue lectures efficiently. Therefore, this study examined the first written books in the 19th century aimed at the teaching of mother tongue in Azerbaijan. When examining textbooks to maintain the original names of them, some of the words are shown in parentheses in Turkey Turkish and no quotations were used.
