Abstract :
In foreign language teaching, many factors play an important role in student’s success. Besides approaches, methods and techniques; the identification of targets, the preparation of syllabus, course process, the roles of the teachers and the students, the qualification of measurement and assessment, extracurricular activities, etc. are also very important items that should be emphasized in foreign language teaching. Apart from the items mentioned above, in foreign language teaching there is another point which has an active role to reach the targets: It is materials that are used in teaching process. The purpose of this study is to draw a road map for material design, development and evaluation. In this study, by developing a detailed scale, an evaluation of the materials has been made by teachers in a higher education institution. As a result, some missing points of the materials have been determined. At the end of the study, a new perspective has been provided in evaluation of materials used in foreign language teaching.
