Abstract :
The aim of this research is to determine whether secondary school students’ values change meaningfully according to their gender, class level, educational levels of their parents and family income status. 700 secondary school students, 346 female and 354 male, who study in two different schools, atttended the research which was designed in survey model. Schwartz Value Survey which was adapted by Kuşdil and Kağıtçıbaşı (2000) and personal information form was used as data collection tools. As a result of the research, female students’ means of value orientations were found meaningfully higher than male stuedents except fort he power, hedonism, traditionalism and stimulation sub dimensions. A meaningful differentation was found in all sub dimensions except stimulation according to class level. According to educational level of parents, meaningful differentation was identified in self direction, traditionalism, conformity, power, security and stimulation. A meaningful differentation was found in universalism, power, traditionalism and stimulation according to family income levels.
