The Effects of the CoRT 1 (Cognitive Research Truth) Thinking Program on Students’ Academic Achivement, Scientific Creativity and Critical Thinking Tendency: A case of “Electricity In Our Life” Unit
Abstract :
The aim of this research is to examine the effects of Cort 1 thinking program with “Electricity in our lives” unit on students’ academic achievement, scientific creativity and critical thinking tendency of within pre-test/post-test control group quasi experimental model, a total of 48 grade 7 students participated in the study (24 by 24). The achievement test, critical thinking tendency and scientific creativity scale were deployed as data collection tools. The experimental group was exposed to predominantly Cort 1 activity papers, while the control group was instructed through in textbook suggested by MEB. Eventually the experiment group outperformed in academic achievement, scientific creativity and critical thinking tendency the control one. Considering that the Cort 1 thinking program yielded impressive results, it is recommended to be applied in the teaching of other subjects and science subjects.
