Abstract :
Vaginal foreign body is a rare entity that presents with indistinct, long-standing, stinky vaginal flux which is (CT) due to foreign body content when they are located near the adnexial locations. In this case report, an adult vaginal foreign body case who presented to emergency clinic with abdominal pain and misdiagnosed as adnexial mass was discussed.A 68 year-old female presented to emergency clinic of our hospital with abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and dysuria lasting for 2 days. During evaluation in emergency service patient underwent an abdominal CT due to increased pain in abdomen which showed a 4.5 x 5 cm, round shaped, hypodense solid mass with fat and calcification contents and peripherally hyperdense calcified wall. This mass lesion was diagnosed as dermoid cyst on CT. A plastic ball with 5 cm diameter was extracted from left superolateral fornix of vagina in gynecological physical examination.Vaginal foreign bodies may be presented to emergency clinic with abdominal pain and they may mimic adnexial masses on CT. Presence of vaginal foreign bodies should be considered in differential diagnosis of patients who present with abdominal pain and accompanying symptoms.
