Abstract :
Objective: Kinesiophobia defined as fear of movement is a factor leading to persistent pain and limiting activities in patients with low back pain. The aim of this study was to investigate relationship between kinesiophobia and quality of life. Material and Methods: Ninety four patients between the ages of 18-75 with low back pain (mean age 56.12±11.75 years) participated in this study. The patients were evaluated with Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia and Short Form-36. Results: The significant differences were found at height (P 0.001), physical function parameter of quality of life (P 0.05) between men and women. A significant difference was found at kinesiophobia scores between both sex (P 0.001). No significance was found between kinesiophobia scores and all parameters of quality of life in both men and women (P 0.05). Conclusion: Kinesiophobia may be observed at women more than men in patients with low back pain. Kinesiophobia negatively may not affect quality of life in both men and women patients with low back pain.
