A Very Rare Entity at the Differential Diagnosis of Lymphoma ‘‘Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease’’: Case Report

Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease is a rare condition which should not be forgotten at the differential diganosis of neck masses. That disease which is also called as ‘’histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis’’ is frequently observed at young adult females and most of the patients apply to the physician with Lymphoma-like symptoms and this is the reason why it is often mixed up with Lymphoma. Etiology is not clear yet and it heals completely in 1-4 months by limiting itself. On account of this, supportive treatment is almost all the time adequate for these patients. In that case report; a young adult woman with Lymphoma-like sypmtoms, who was consulted to our clinic with pre-diagnosis of Lymphoma, was then diagnosed as Kikuchi-Fujimoto Disease after our examinations and healed spontaneously in a three months period, was presented.
