Monitorization in Small Animals
Abstract :
The purpose of the anesthesia is to provide reversible unconsciousness, amnesia, analgesia and immobilisation with minimum risk. However anesthetic drugs and additives disturb homeostasis of the patient unexpectedly. A sudden crisis during anesthesia unfortunately can make the patient’s life in danger. From this aspect the purpose of the monitorization is providing continuous data about organ functions and vital values maintaining anesthesia safety at the highest level, and decreasing anesthesia risks to minimum. In this review it is aimed to give recent knowledge about small animals vital parameter monitorization in veterinary surgery.
