Title Of Article :
Treatment of Third Eyelid Gland Prolapse in Dogs with Morgan’s Pocket Technique
Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical outcome and complications of Morgan’s pocket technique in the repositioning of the prolapsed third eyelid gland in dogs. From 13 dogs, 18 eyes with protrusion of the third eyelid gland were treated using Morgan’s pocket technique. The affected dogs were 3 months to 3 years old. Nine dogs were male (69.23 %) and 5 were female (30.77 %). In five dogs the cherry eye was bilateral (38.46 %). Eighteen protruded third eyelid glands were surgically treated with success in 17 eyes. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that the pocket technique can be considered as a reliable metod for the repositioning of a prolapsed gland of the third eyelid in dog. :
