Veterinary Medicine and Empathy
Abstract :
Empathy may be defined as putting and feeling oneself as another one and as understanding emotions and opinions of other one. Empathy is expected to facilitate the communication. Empathical skill which is extremely important for doctors provides a media to understand patient’s problems and pains. İn the veterinary medicine, benefiting empathy method is necessary both for human- animal relationship and for human- human relationship Women commonly approach with higher level of empathy than men do towards animals. Some animal owners display a selfish behaviour far from empathy, concerning animals euthanasia.
