The importance of drug wastes from the standpoint of environment and human health
Abstract :
Population explotion and the formation of overpopulated cities have been causing environmental and human halth problems via waste waters and solid waste dump areas. In those formed wastes, drugs and drug related compounds are recently becoming health and environmental concerns. In this review; potential health and environmental contamination problems originated from used drug and the metabolites entering municipal waste water systems, unused or expired drugs thrown into household garbage containers, or wastes released from drug production plants have been commentated in the light of the recent publications.
