MORAL FREEDOM PROBLEM IN THE FIRST HIGH SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY COURSE BOOKS IN THE REPUBLICAN PERIOD
Abstract :
Whether human being is free while he is in a moral activity has been a question mostly discussed in the history of philosophy. This question was kept alive in the philosophy course books written for high schools after the proclamation of the Republic. The philosophy books written in this period had three main themes different from that of the current time. Morality comprised these three topics together with metaphysics and aesthetics. In other words, morality issues formed the most basic subjects of the first philosophy course books written after the proclamation of the Republic. Among these issues, the topic of whether human being is free while having a behavior that could be regarded as good or bad takes the most importance place.
