Abstract :
The purpose of this study is to analyze the Turkish-Arabic relations and the Arabs image presented in the high school history textbooks since the foundation of the Turkish republic. The sample of this study, where historical research and survey model were used together, was determined in accordance with the political, educational and ideological statements appeared in high school history textbooks. The textbooks employed the respective periods determined in accordance to these criteria were used as the data collection tool within the context of the study. The texts and the documents present in the high school history textbooks were thoroughly examined using the document investigation method. According to these analyses although the high school history textbooks reflected the doctrine of the political authority of the time, almost the same statements were present about the image of the Arabs even if the political power changed. When we consider the presentation of Turkish-Arabic relations throughout the historical process of the presentations have been getting much more normalized in recent years the history is written from a more scientific perspective and the alienation of other nations have been avoided as much as possible.
